The workers at the Crofton pulp mill have a new four-year contract.
Few details of the new collective agreement have been publicly released, other than a statement from Catalyst Paper, which owns the mill, that it is pleased that the contract has been ratified.
“We worked hard to achieve a negotiated agreement that recognizes employees’ contributions and reflects the changing realities of our business,” Catalyst’s statement said.
“We believe it is a fair and competitive agreement, and we will continue to focus on ensuring Crofton is a safe, efficient and productive mill, and an employer of choice for current and future generations of workers.”
Officials from the PPWC Local #2, which represents the more than 400 workers at the Crofton mill, declined to comment on the new collective agreement.
