Duncan’s Phreddy Niven will soon be jetting off to the island of Maui after discovering he won the top prize of $50,000 playing BCLC’s Super Crossword Scratch & Win game.

Niven was off to grab a coffee when he decided to purchase a ticket while out and about; a decision he’s glad he made.

“I was at home when I found out I won,” Niven recalled.

“The first thing that crossed my mind was that I didn’t do it right. I thought I better check it again.”

Niven purchased his ticket from the Save-On-Foods on the Trans-Canada Highway in Duncan and says he is still in disbelief of his win.

He said he’s looking forward to his upcoming Hawaiian vacation, thanks to his prize.
