Medical clinic closure has patients flooding hospital; use walk-in clinics, officials say

Those requiring non-urgent medical care or prescription refills are asked to contact nearby walk-in clinics.

Valley Medical Clinic on Jubilee Street is currently closed and Vancouver Island Health Authority is advising patients to visit alternate locations for their medical needs.

The Beverly Medical Clinic at 201-2763 Beverly St. in Duncan is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contacted them at 250-597-3390.

Cowichan One Way Clinic is located at 291 Cowichan Way in Duncan and is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. They can be reached at 778-422-3999.

Valleyview Medical Clinic is located at 27-1400 Cowichan Bay Road in Cobble Hill. It is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It can be reached at 250-743-9395.

Those with non-urgent medical needs are asked not to visit the emergency department at the hospital at this time.

“By doing so, you are helping our dedicated emergency staff provide high-quality emergency care as quickly as possible to all emergency patients,” said Dr. David Robertson, executive medical director of Island Health.
