Police in the Cowichan Valley are asking the public to keep their eyes open for a lawn tractor that was stolen from Providence Farm between May 6 and 7.

The tractor is a green John Deere X300 riding lawnmower with a custom-built galvanized steel mulching deck plug. It is missing a panel from its right side, which was recovered at the scene of the theft. A large orange “PF” is painted on the hood of the tractor.

Evidence at the scene suggests that the tractor was loaded onto a vehicle or trailer behind St. Ann’s Church.

“As a community, so many of us have been helped by the services Providence Farm provide,” said Cpl. Cari Lougheed of the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP. “My hope is that as a community we are able to lend them a hand back by helping to return this piece of stolen equipment.”

Anyone with information about the theft of the tractor or its current whereabouts should contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-746-5522 and quote police file No. 2021-6796.
