NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS 2023 PROPERTY TAX NOTICES

Property tax notices have been mailed. If you have not yet received your 2023 tax notice, please contact the Municipal Hall at 250.746.3100 or finance@northcowichan.ca. Your payment must be received by 4:30 pm July 4, 2023 to be accepted without penalty. All unpaid 2023 taxes, including unclaimed home owner grants, are subject to a:

10% PENALTY AFTER JULY 4, 2023

CLAIM YOUR HOME OWNER GRANT ONLINE AT:

www.gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant

It is not necessary to make a payment in order to claim the home owner grant. To avoid a 10% penalty on the home owner grant, it must be claimed online or by phone at 1.888.355.2700 before 4:30 pm on July 4, 2023.

HOW TO PAY YOUR PROPERTY TAXES:

 Ensure social distancing and the safety of others by paying online or by mail.

 Online banking through your financial institution.

 Mail in your payment to the address below. You may post-

date your cheque to July 4, 2023.

 Drop box at the Municipal Hall.

 In person at the Municipal Hall by cash, cheque, or debit.

Home owners who are 55 years or older, a surviving spouse, or a person with disabilities may be eligible to defer payment of their property taxes under the Property Tax Deferment Program. Visit www.gov.bc.ca/propertytaxdeferment or phone 1.888.355.2700 for more information.
