It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Brock. He passed away peacefully at Cowichan Hospice after a fierce battle with cancer.
Brock is survived by his wife Eila, son Benton, daughter Emily, parents Jayne & Gary Smith, sister Jennifer Bone nee Smith, brother-in-law Anthony, niece Brieanna, nephew Mackenzie, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, in laws and extended family members.
Brock was born in New Market Ontario and moved to Shawnigan Lake in 1991. Through his life Brock worked in construction, an industrial kitchen, security, at Island Health, and finally at Waste Connections Canada, where he loved driving the "Big trucks."
Brock had various interests and hobbies. In his early twenties he learned how to fly planes down in Sidney BC, boating with many fond memories on Shawnigan Lake, in the "Red boat."
He had an amazing green thumb and loved to garden. He loved camping, cars, and movies, baking cookies with the kids, and Bakery tours with the family.
Brock was a wonderful and devoted father, who loved his children more than anything, for him they are his best accomplishment. Brock was a loving and gentle soul, with a wicked sense of humour. Brock will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Brocks's doctors, Dr. Friderichs, Dr. Masuda, Dr. Adzich. Eternal gratitude and awe to the amazing nurses at Cowichan Hospice, you made his final journey a peaceful one.
A funeral service is being held at First Memorial in Duncan, on November 25th, at 1:00pm.
