It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son and brother Christopher Jones on December 5, 2016 in Toronto, Ontario. A pulmonary embolism took his life.

Chris was predeceased by his grandparents, Vernon and Eleanor Jones. He is survived by his parents Cindy and Kerry, sisters Candace and Sarah (Jacob), Chris’s girlfriend Allison, grandparents Lyle and Karen Sheepwash, great-aunt Elaine Jones and many more aunts, uncles and cousins.

Born and raised in the Cowichan Valley, Chris developed an interest in computers very early in life. Not content with just playing computer games, he wanted to know exactly how they worked and at the age of 8 began to intentionally ‘crash’ the family computer, just so he could learn how to get it working again. He also enjoyed sports, playing basketball from the age of six all the way to grade 12 at FKSS. Chris’ passion for computers took him to Toronto for post-secondary education, a Technical Computer School at the CBC building in Toronto. He had built a life in Toronto over the last thirteen years and enjoyed his career with The Walsh Group immensely. He built great relationships with all who knew him, and will be missed by his many friends across Canada.

Chris was generous with his time and knowledge. He was always willing to help anyone, in any way he could and did so with great diligence and patience. He was a kind, gentle person with a good sense of humour.

Special thanks to Shakeel and everyone at the Walsh Group, Steven and Rita, Jean-Marc and Sam, for all of their love and support.

No memorial service has been planned at this time.

“Treat reality like a road, a planned route that we all follow. Apply your creativity, ingenuity, and passion to turn that road into a runway.

Enjoy your time and help others out where you can. Family is what you make it.

In a world that can be crazy at times we need to find genuine ways to help one another out.”
