It is with sadness that we announce that our beloved husband, father, and friend Dennis Lerch has passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Dennis was born January 10, 1941, in Altona, Manitoba and is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Lerch (Klaassen), his son Mick (Nora), daughter Kristy (John), and his grandchildren Ronan, Joe, CJ, and Bresil. Also, by his siblings Linda Kletke, Don Lerch (Sharon), Larry Lerch (Donna), Gail Christie (Carl), Glen Lerch (Marge), and Marvin Lerch (Karen).
Dennis and Ruby retired to Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island in 1996 after 35 years with the City of Calgary Parks and Recreation department where he managed a great team and created life-long friendships. Once retired Dennis enjoyed fishing off Sooke and tending to Larkspur Meadows - Dennis and Ruby's hobby farm. Dennis was an avid gardener who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. Dennis enjoyed winding down his day with a dinner he prepared and a nice scotch.
The family wishes to express their utmost gratitude to Jeff Peters and Kelsey Page, nee Slater for their love, friendship, and caring support throughout the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with details to be published as soon as possible.
In lieu of flowers please donate to your local Heart and Stroke Foundation in Dennis' honour.
