Dharam passed away peacefully in Cowichan District Hospital at the age of 93. Dharam was predeceased by her loving husband Mohan Singh Gillan and her son Jujhar Singh Gillan. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Kuldip (late Gurdip), Amarjit (Surinder) Pagely, Harbhjan (late Hardial), Satwinder (Jagdish) Pagely, late Jujhar (Kulwant) Gillan, Mukhtiar Singh (Varinder) Gillan.
She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be forever remembered by her staff/students/family as she was a dedicated educator in India. She will be remembered first and foremost for always putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own. She always helped her children whole heartedly. Thank you to Cowichan District Hospital staff and the third floor nurses, doctors and staff. A very special thanks to Dr. Griffin who always showed her warmth and compassion.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan, BC.
Cremation Services will follow at Cowichan Valley East Indian Crematorium with Final Prayer Services and Langar at the Duncan Sikh Temple, 3210 Sherman Road, Duncan.
