July 7, 1935 - January 15, 2020
Dolores was born to Fanny and Victor Ordano in Chemainus, BC, where she resided, raised her family, and passed away peacefully two blocks from home in the Long Term Care Unit at the Chemainus Health Care Center.
She will be dearly and forever missed by her husband Allan, and her children, Sharon (Doug) Greer, Susan (Tom) Thorpe-Doubble, Rudy (Denise) Grubert, Holly (Terry) Baril, Judy (Scott) Lamont, and her already departed son Rick Grubert.
Her many grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy and she revelled in them being part of her life.
She was also a cherished sister to Lorraine, Ramona, Ramon (Toni), Jack, and Colleen (Lou) , and to Victor and Rudy who left before her.
Dolores' super power was her ability to welcome strangers, one and all. She was a lover and a fighter, a hidden artist and a writer, and a creative whose talents she passed through to all the generations that came after her.
She left this poem for her children and family:
[...] You'll never walk alone my dear
You'll always feel my presence near
Even though we're far apart
I love you with all my heart.
Nights and days will pass to years
And this will soften all your fears
Sometimes you'll stroll down memory lane
But let it go when causing pain.
I want for you such happiness
You'll find your way through all the mist
So hug the children oh so tight
And kiss them gently both good night.
And as the dawn comes breaking through
You'll find your way to start anew
Now let me go, don't hold me tight
[...] everything will be all right.

RIP Our Precious Mumma
The family wishes to thank Dr. Morris for her considerate care over many years, and to the staff, nurses, and care providers at Chemainus Health Care Center for their ever so kind and compassionate aid they selflessly delivered.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Long Term Care Unit at the Chemainus Health Care Center. At Dolores' request there will be no service.
