In Loving Memory ~
Born in Duncan, summer of '42, and passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024, at the Cowichan District Hospital.
Celebration of life will follow in the summer by the family.
Dot met Steve in Youbou, married in 1960, and had a beautiful baby girl, Lorraine, and then Darren and Kathe came along as well. Dot's home always welcomed many friends and relatives, the door always open.
She worked at the Lake Cowichan post office for several years then decided to purchase the Footwear Center in 1979. She put shoes on many feet over her years, retired September 10, 2016. Shoe store now named "Dot's".
She was very involved in the community with local sports and Lake Days, and the Chamber. She played hockey, softball and she was an acrobat in her younger years.
She will be lovingly missed by husband Steve, children, (predeceased by daughter Lorraine) (Rick) Gaudreault, and survived by children Darren and Kathe, (Robert) Hartman.
She was a Grandma at 39 to Danielle Gaudreault, (Brandon), Ashley (Brian) Degraaf, Katie (Troy) Giles, Christina (Mark) Bazzo, and Makenzie Hartman.
And Great Grandkids Dominic, Parks, Kasia, Jack, Audrey, Kelly and Charlee.
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, your kind and selfless nature is the greatest gift that our hearts have ever known. You are our happy place, our home away from home, and best friend. You are forever loved.
