August 27, 1944 - November 1, 2019
Born August 27, 1944 at King Daughter's Hospital Duncan, died November 1, 2019 at Cowichan District Hospital after a courageous fight with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Laurence Haines, Kathleen Ellen and his brothers Larry and Ken. Survived by his wife Joanne and sons Mike and Dean, brothers Don, John and Gord (Doris) and nieces and nephews. Ger went to school in Duncan, and then trained with Pacific Logging in Sooke, becoming a Forestry Logging Engineer and worked for Pacific at Mesachie Lake. He followed with many years at Pacific Builders in Cobble Hill in home construction truss design.
Gerry enjoyed working in his garden, watching hockey and riding his bike on the Trans Canada Trail toward Lake Cowichan. He will be missed by his family and friends.
