Passed away peacefully August 30 at 98, with 2 of her beloved granddaughters by her side. Predeceased by her husband George after 70 years of marriage, her brother Victor Eden and her daughter Teresa Harrison. She is survived by sons Ron, Ken (Susan) and Fred (Joan).

Born in London England, Joyce came to Victoria at the age of 9 months. As a child she loved swimming and excelled at track and field.

Joyce met dad at the AYPA (Anglican Young Peoples Association) at St Johns Church, Quadra Street. In 1952 they started the Veribest Bakery at 1729 Cook Street. Then in 1957 they bought a farm on Shawnigan Mill Bay Road and started a dairy farm. They commuted over the Malahat for many years until retirement. Joyce lived at the farm for some 50 plus years, until her health was a problem. Joyce loved to cook for the family and friends. She always made time to listen to her children, her 11 grandchildren and many great and great great grand children.

She had a remarkable memory for people, even those she met briefly. She had infinite patience and a fun loving personality. Her wonderful infectious smile will be missed by all that knew her.

Our thanks to the caring staff of Cairnsmore Place where Joyce spent the last 2 ½ years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 1, 2016, 1 to 3 pm at the First Memorial Hall, 375 Brae Road, Duncan, BC.
