Our precious son and brother, Mark, passed away suddenly on May 31st 2017.
Mark was born and raised in Duncan where he spent the majority of his life.
Mark loved sports, nature and animals. He excelled in academics and was always an honour roll student. He spent years playing hockey, baseball and lacrosse. He always gave 150% and was a great teammate. Mark enjoyed walking in the woods, discovering and learning about nature, and sitting by the river. Mark loved all animals, especially dogs. The family dog Marcie passed away in Mark’s arms. His best bud Sambo will miss Mark tremendously – they have that special bond.
Mark was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Verna and Bill Benjamin, Eleanor and John, and also his Uncle John Tate. They are waiting for him with open arms, and are rejoicing with God and the Angels as they welcome Mark home.
Mark is survived by his parents Don and Nancy Merry, as well as his brothers Matthew, Donald (and Donald’s family). No words can express how much we love Mark nor how much he loves us. He was an amazing son, brother and man.
Missing Mark greatly are Uncle David Benjamin (Jen) and cousins, who were as close as brothers, Mike and Joel. He is also survived by Aunt Marian (Roy) Hynd and cousins Andrew and Megan; as well as his Aunt Kate (Gerald) Merry and cousins Tracy (Joel) and Douglas (Brooke) Merry.
We are all so thankful, comforted and at peace knowing that our precious Mark is safe in the arms of Jesus.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1 pm in the Cowichan Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3036 Sherman Rd, Duncan.
