It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Nasib Kaur Rathor, on April 19th, 2018 in Duncan, B.C. Born on April 4th, 1941 in Panshta, Punjab India to parents Bhagwant Kaur and Naragan Singh Parmar; Nasib was the 3rd youngest of 8 children.
Married on June 25th, 1961, in Pandori Rajput District Hoshiarpur, Nasib leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Gurbachan Singh Rathor. Nasib came to Canada in 1972 and had since been living in Duncan, B.C. Nasib will be deeply missed by her adoring children, son: Amrik (Manpreet), and her daughters: Surinder (Davinder), Surjeet (Ravinder), and Sandra; grandchildren: Harminder, Gurveer, Inderveer, Manvinder, Manohar, Harman, Puneet, and Rasjeevan.
Nasib enjoyed participating in the Sikh community and regularly attended the Sikh temple. Nasib had a joy for the outdoors, gardening, and cooking. Nasib was a selfless, humble, and affectionate mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her vibrant personality and the endless amount of love that she had for her family; she will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
We would like to thank Dr. Blackburn, Nurse Zach, and all of the Cowichan District Hospital staff for all of their hard work and support.
Funeral Service will be held at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre on Sunday April 29th, 2018 at 11:00 am followed by services at the Duncan Sikh Temple.
