Patricia Anne Rukin

December 27, 1955 - July 29, 2019
After a near lifelong battle with MS, Patricia Anne Rukin died on July 29th at the Chemainus Health Care Center, Chemainus, BC at the age of 63. She leaves behind her daughter, Janeane Rukin (grandson, Owen); her father Frank Graves; and her brothers Mike Graves and Jack Graves (Krista).
Pat was born on December 27th 1955, in Calgary AB, to father Francis Graves and mother Carrie Graves. She grew up in a loving family in the idyllic setting of Lake Cowichan. She graduated from Lake Cowichan Senior Secondary School in 1973.
In 1980, Pat married Daniel Rukin. Shortly after marriage, they relocated to Victoria where their daughter Janeane was born, then Chemainus for a while, and then Vancouver.
Pat was a loving wife, homemaker and devoted mom to her daughter Janeane. She loved playing music, singing and was a devoted Christian. Even though diagnosed with MS as a teenager, she bravely battled her illness throughout her life and remained dedicated to her home and family.
Pat requested to be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 26, at 2 pm, at the Church of the Nazarene, 3036 Sherman Rd, Duncan BC. A tea at the church will follow; all are welcome. The family would especially like to thank Lorna Tolman, for her friendship and company; A huge thank you to the staff at the Chemainus Health Care for their constant, attentive care.
