Rolf is survived by his wife of 44 years Lynda, a brother Eric (Caroline) Hansen, 3 nephews and 1 niece. We who knew Rolf will greatly mourn our loss. He was a man of many facets: He never judged anyone, and was always there for those who needed his kindness and intellect. Truly a man among men. Rolf was born to Marjorie and Harold Hansen in Hillsboro, Oregon. There he became a star athlete in football, baseball and basketball. He won a football scholarship to Menlo College in California.

He moved to San Francisco and was involved in 3 businesses. As a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club he developed his life long passion for sailing. He frequently sailed in the Caribbean and was a certified Navigator and Bowman in a number of Transpac races. His next move was to Kauai, Hawaii where he was the first Food & Beverage Manager at Princeville Golf Club. While living on Kauai he met Lynda in February 1972. Within months he left Kauai and moved to Vancouver where he married his “Canadian Girl” on November 22, 1972. Throughout his life Rolf loved sports and for many years he was an avid and accomplished golfer. One of his highlights in life was owning and renovating his 40-foot Woodhull Classic he called Stormy Petrel. Stormy brought him many hours of fishing and cruising the Gulf Islands.

Most of all Rolf loved life and whatever it had to offer. He was always on the go. To his extended family, Rose and Craig Little and family and his co-workers and friends at Arbutus RV Mill Bay “Thank you” to his Thursday afternoon pals at the Eagles, keep a chair at the table for him. To Dr. W. Reynolds and Mill Bay Medical, Thank you for all the care you gave Rolf.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Arbutus R.V. in late April.
