Stuart passed suddenly at home on August 21 due to congestive heart failure.

He was born in Blackpool, England and came to Canada as a child. Together with his parents and four brothers the family settled at “Fairbridge” in Glenora. Stuart completed his schooling at Cowichan High.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Linnette (Reece), Wesley (Louise) and Carey; brothers, Ian, Roland, David (Carol) and Howard (Freda); grandchildren, Gavin, Hunter, Tiffany and Gage.

Stuart was a gifted Carpenter and built many homes and commercial buildings in the greater community.

He served as a Volunteer Fireman with Duncan Fire Department for many years. He was also instrumental in building the original “Swinging Bridge” together with his brother Roland at Bright Angel Park, Glenora. He was also instrumental in the repair and refurbishment of the World’s Largest Hockey Stick.

Upon his retirement, Stuart spent countless hours at the Forest Discovery Centre. This work was a true love affair for mind and body.

No service by request.

A donation to the Forest Discovery Centre in his name would be appreciated.
