A thank you from Hooch and his owner
To all those that helped and saved my dog, Hooch, from the Cowichan River on Oct. 28, 2020:
I would like to thank the RCMP for their quick action, both in assessing the situation and contacting Search and Rescue. To the officer that stayed with me and helped me keep it together by talking me down from my hysteria, you’re amazing!
To my friend that had the best idea to call the RCMP and to yell at me to stop when I was getting ready to rescue him myself: thank you Lydia, you saved us both!
To all the people that were at the river’s edge sending all the positive energy, thank you. You all rock!
And to Search and Rescue, you all came in like a well-oiled machine. You made such professional decisions without pausing. I love you all! Hooch loves you all. Thank you!
Words cannot express my gratitude but this is just a bit of how very grateful I am. Hooch will not be chasing fish again!
Also, thank you Central Cowichan Animal Hospital for warming Hooch up and accepting him in immediately after he was saved.
Thanks you to everyone!!
Sincerely and gratefully,
Laurie Boyles and Hooch
