A real need for local food production

Method wrong, but killing pig for food not

While the experience and condition that this poor creature endured was traumatic and unfortunate, I will dare to beg the big question here.

One can’t help wondering why the slaughtering of a hefty pig for food is seen as such a negative act?

When there is a real need for local food production, it seems there are a great number among us who could benefit from such a food source readily available.

Could this not be a solution, rather than decrying the demise of a rotund pig?

I’m trying to see the logic here — raising this creature as a pet versus providing a viable food source for human consumption.

How is this so wrong?
