Add to the loss column for the Lake Cowichan Kraken but add two games against two experienced top-tier VIJHL teams as well.
The Kraken hosted perennial contenders, the Campbell River Storm Sunday evening and fell by an 8-2 score.
Rowan Zapisocki scored at 4:02 of the second from Rees Aebischer and Evan Vasarhely and Anthony Wilson scored at 18:29 of the third from Kyler Smith and Zapisocki but a five-goal deficit was simply too much to overcome.
Logan Moorhead got the start in goal for Lake Cowichan but was lifted at the 17-minute mark of the first period after the Storm’s fourth goal.
Brendon Wilson played in net for the remainder of the game and while he slowed the high-powered Storm offence, he couldn’t stop it.
Two nights before, the Kraken visited the Predators at George Pearkes Arena in Saanich.
The Kraken started slow, giving up three goals in the first period. Zapisocki scored early in the second but it was matched by Saanich.
There were no third period goals giving the Kraken the 4-1 loss. Moorhead took the loss in net, despite saving 41 of 45 shots.
The Kraken play next on Sunday, Nov. 27 against Peninsula.
