The peewee Cowichan Bulldogs celebrate with the Founders Cup after their win last Saturday.

Dominant on both sides of the ball, the Cowichan Bulldogs crushed the Westshore Warriors 38-0 to capture peewee football’s Founders Cup at Westhills Stadium last Saturday.

Running back Jesse Kwasny accounted for all of Cowichan’s touchdowns, but wasn’t the only strong performer on offence as the Bulldogs’ offensive line stood tall throughout the game, opening holes that allowed Kwasny and fullback Finn Shea to rack up significant yards. The Bulldogs were also able to complete a number of passes through the air, which kept the Warriors defence guessing.

The Cowichan defence couldn’t have picked a better time for a shutout. Thanks to excellent work by the defensive line and linebacker corps, including Jayden Strzok and Kaylum Billings, the Warriors were unable to get anything rolling consistently.

“The game was a fitting end to the season, as every member contributed to the win, which played into the Bulldog identity of playing as a team,” manager Jaymee Shea said.
