With the status of the Malahat changing rapidly in recent days, several sports leagues have announced changes to their schedules for the upcoming days (Thursday, Nov. 18-Sunday, Nov. 21). This is a list of some of those postponements, cancellations and rescheduled games.

Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL)
The Caps are still on schedule to play road games in Langley on Thursday, Coquitlam on Saturday and Surrey on Sunday.
Kerry Park Islanders and Lake Cowichan Kraken (VIJHL)
The Islanders have had both their games (at Saanich on Friday and at Westshore on Sunday) postponed. The Kraken’s home game against Victoria on Friday wa also postponed, however, there will be hockey in Lake Cowichan Friday night after all. League owners have made it possible for the Kraken to host the Islanders Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
The Kraken’s road game against Comox Valley on Saturday is still on.
Vancouver Island Soccer League
In Div. 1, Cowichan LMG will visit Comox on Saturday night. Friday night’s home game against Lakehill has been postponed.
In Div. 3, Cowichan Oak FC will visit Nanaimo on Saturday night. Sunday’s road game against Lakehill has been postponed.
In. Div. 4, the Cowichan Fury will play host to Nanaimo at the Sherman Road turf on Saturday at 6 p.m. They had been scheduled to face JDF in the same time slot.
In the O30A league, the Cowichan Steelheads’ home game against Vic West on Saturday has been postponed. The Cowichan 49ers had the weekend off already.
Lower Island Women’s Soccer League
Weekend games for Cowichan United (Div. 2) for the Cowichan Cougars (O30A) and NIFA Pacific (Div. 3) had all been postponed as of 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Cowichan Rugby Football Club
The Piggies men’s and women’s games against Castaway Wanderers on Saturday afternoon following a field blessing have been postponed. A blessing ceremony for the club grounds has been moved to 2 p.m.
Senior boys single-A volleyball Island championships
Duncan Christian School was scheduled to host the Island championships this past Tuesday (Nov. 16). The tournament has now been rescheduled for next Tuesday (Nov. 23).
