Two perfect outings by goalie Devyn Zunti propelled the U12 Mid Island Lightning to a sweep of the first round of the Island field lacrosse playoffs.
The Lightning easily got past the North Island Rage in their two-game series last weekend, winning 10-0 and 11-0 as Zunti posted his first two shutouts of the season.
Patrick Wong led the way in the first game with three goals, while Brandon Carlson and Cam Lumb each had two, and Chris Hleck, Cole Ursulan and Conner Loch-Labelle added singles.
Dawson Thibedeault had a hat trick in the second game, Hleck, Ursulan and Loch-Labelle each had two, and Wong and Jeremy Benson had one apiece.
The Mid Island Lightning will face the Nanaimo Raiders in the Island finals in Nanaimo this Sunday.
