Zurrer Sweden bound

Emily Zurrer is bound for a new home. After spending last season with the Seattle Reign of the National Women's Soccer League, the Canadian national team soccer star from Crofton is heading back to Sweden, where she played in 2011.

"Tis true! I've signed with Jitex in the Swedish Damallsvenskan for next season," she confirmed on twitter. "Tough decision but I am excited for this next venture!!" "I want to say a huge thank you to @SeattleReignFC!" she added. "First class organization and I wish them nothing but the best next season!" Zurrer had previously played in Sweden with Dalsjöfors GoIF.

Zurrer, who turned 26 in July, has represented Canada in the last two Olympics, notably coming home with a bronze medal from the 2012 games in London. She was inducted into the North Cowichan/Duncan Sports Wall of Fame later that same year.
