Originally from Port Alberni, I spent my formative years growing up in the Cowichan Valley. After completing my education at Cowichan Senior Secondary, I headed to Grand Rapids, MI to attend Calvin College. My journey then took me into the automotive industry, where I enjoyed a successful 18-year career.
In 2014, I transitioned into the media world by joining Black Press as a multi-media sales consultant for the Nanaimo News Bulletin. In 2018, I took on the role of Sales Manager for Central Vancouver Island. More recently, in 2021, I proudly assumed the position of Publisher for the Cowichan Valley Citizen and the Lake Cowichan Gazette. Immersing myself in the local community has been incredibly fulfilling – currently, I'm honored to serve as the President of the Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce, and I'm also a member of the Board of Directors for the Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Association. Additionally, I'm part of the Leadership Team for the Cowichan Community Action Team.
Beyond my professional life, I find joy in playing music, camping, and spending cherished moments with my four children and seven grandchildren.
